My iCandy new Peach pushchair has been one of the best things I ever got for my baby. I love it because it’s smart and stylish and attracts second glance everywhere it goes and Rory loves it because it’s safe and sturdy, made from comfortable materials and gives him a smooth ride. So when we found out that iCandy had launched a new model, we were very intrigued.
I realised that iCandy is a brand that likes to push boundaries when I saw them at The Baby Show and they hosted the world’s first pushchair catwalk show, so I suspected the launch event for the new edition would be spectacular. I was not wrong as iCandy took over a warehouse in Manchester for the whole day and night to showcase it’s collection, have a party and launch what has to be one of the most beautiful and elegant pushchairs I’ve ever seen. Let’s have a closer look at the limited-edition Designer Collection Midnight Edition:
The colour palette on these is inspired by opulent evening wear and designer jewellery with a lavish midnight blue frame and rose gold accents. It has all of the features that I love about my iCandy such as a shopping basket holding up to 5kg, an elevation feature that brings the seat higher and closer for better interaction between parent and child, and the elevators can also be used to bring the child closer to the table when out and about in cafes and restaurants. But there are added features such as the carrycot is suitable for permanent overnight sleeping because it has feet that prevent it from touching cold surfaces and that help provide better ventilation. The handcrafted luxurious leatherette handle and bumper bar with contrasting stitching makes you feel like you’re in control of the pushing and the colour is just divine.
Talking of divine, the launch in Manchester was absolutely amazing as no expense was spared to show off the new DC Midnight Edition and other iCandy models. There was a high end video to reveal it, dry ice and it was paraded down the catwalk taking centre stage. The great thing about the venue was that it was minimalistic in terms of design with exposed brickwork and bare walls and this meant the pushchairs had their chance to shine.
Here are some photos that sum up the experience:
Rory and I have certainly made the most of our own iCandy in the past 9 weeks, taking it to a variety of places from classy restaurants to muddy parks and a lake (for my triathlon training). It’s so durable that it still looks stylish despite what I put it through.
My fiance is as proud to push our iCandy as I am because it’s not too girly – he says he can see the quality. I can imagine that men would enjoy the midnight colour as it would remind them of a sleek, luxury car.
